2021 John Tiratsoo Award for Young Achievement Winners
We hope you were able to tune into our presentation of this year’s John Tiratsoo Award for Young Achievement at the virtual PPIM Conference and Exhibition!
Our first announced winner was Kaella-Marie E. of Enbridge Gas and Young Pipeliners Association of Canada – YPAC!
Kaella is an Anishinaabekwe from Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory and Aroland First Nation. At Enbridge, she manages the construction of natural gas pipeline projects. Kaella is a committee member and vice-chair with the Canada Energy Regulator | Régie de l’énergie du Canada (CER) Indigenous Advisory Council (IAC).
For the first time ever, during 2020, Canada’s federal energy regulator created the IAC. The role of the committee is to advise the Board of Directors on how the CER can build a new relationship with Indigenous peoples. Members of the IAC are leaders at the local, regional and national level, are respected voices of their communities, and bring deep experience in the energy and natural resources sector. Kaella was chosen, the committee is stronger, and the regulator, and all Canadians will reap benefits from her voice at the table.
Congratulations Kaella and thank you for nominating her, Annie Korver!
